WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the final version of a sweeping budget bill, that has already passed the U.S. Senate, and now heads to President Trump’s desk for signature. The Consumer Federation of America warns this legislation will have devastating consequences for everyday Americans.

"This so-called ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ provides permanent tax breaks for billionaires while slashing health care, food assistance, and energy affordability programs for everyday Americans," said Susan Weinstock, CEO of the Consumer Federation of America.

"Additionally, it cuts funding for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, intentionally obstructing the very agency designed to protect people from financial abuse and corporate misconduct. While this legislation is devastating for the American consumer, it will not stop CFA from fighting alongside our member organizations and the public to demand a fairer marketplace for all."
