CFA and Other Groups Oppose DOE’s Proposal to Allow Inefficient Short Cycle Clothes Washers and Dryer

CFA and other groups filed comments opposing the Department of Energy’s proposal to establish a separate product class for short cycle clothes washers and dryers. We argued that the proposal is unnecessary as a short cycle is already a feature on many current clothes washers and dryers on the market. Furthermore, DOE has not given any data that supports consumer demand for this separate product class which would not subject to energy efficiency standards.
