CFA Asks TTB to End Delay on Alcohol Labeling

Consumer Federation of America submitted the following comments in response to the U.S. Department of Treasury Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau’s (TTB) public meetings regarding ingredient, nutrition information, and allergen labeling on alcoholic beverages. The comments point out that many alcoholic beverages, regulated by FDA by virtue of a legal technicality, are already required to disclose this information. The comments urge TTB to propose rules within the calendar year that are responsive to CFA and other consumer and public health group’s 2003 petition for updated labeling.
