CFA Urges CFPB to Continue its Auto Data Project

In a letter to the CFPB, CFA highlighted the importance of the Bureau’s auto finance data collection project and urged it to continue. Using its market monitoring authority, the Bureau has collected data about over 30 million auto loans from nine auto finance marketplace participants. The letter demonstrates the unique nature of the data the Bureau has collected which is not otherwise available, the importance of issuing reports that include detailed and granular information, and the need for continued reports showing the public the results of its research.
