CFA Urges EPA to Move Forward with Current Fuel Economy Standards

In a statement delivered to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Transportation during a public hearing in Dearborn, Michigan, CFA Executive Director Jack Gillis explained that the final determination of the EPA was administratively sound and reached the correct conclusion, making the current reconsideration of the standards unnecessary. Furthermore, the conclusion reached in the SAFE rule is woefully incorrect: A freeze or rollback of the standards for MY 2021-2026 are not economically justified and contrary to law and administrative practice.
