CFA Urges No Vote on Huizenga Amendment to FSGG Appropriations Bill

As the Financial Services and General Government appropriations bill went to the House floor for a vote, CFA wrote to members of the House urging them to vote no on an amendment from Rep. Bill Huizenga (R-MI) to strike Section 540 from the bill. Section 540 of the FSGG appropriations bill would prevent the SEC from finalizing regulatory proposals that would recklessly expand private offering exemptions without first finalizing a rule that would enable it to begin collecting basic data about private securities offerings necessary to assess the potential effects of its proposals.
