Consumer Groups Call on FCC to More Significantly Limit Unwanted Robocalls

In reply comments filed with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in response to the Further Notice of Proposed Rulemaking on Advanced Methods to Target and Eliminate Unlawful Robocalls, CFA and other consumer groups are urging the FCC to redouble its efforts against unwanted calls. Because the new rules target only a narrow set of robocalls—and voice service providers are not required to participate in the blocking—these rules will not affect the vast majority of unwanted calls. In the reply comments, CFA and the consumer groups reiterate and expand on four essential actions we believe the FCC should take to more significantly limit unwanted robocalls.
