Consumer Groups Submit Comments on Methods of Improving Recall Effectiveness

In comments submitted to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), consumer groups offer a number of recommendations to ensure greater recall effectiveness and an improved ability to remove dangerous products from consumers' homes. The recommendations outlined include improved communication with the public, more robust approaches to outreach, incentives for consumer responsiveness to recalls, developing means to get input from technology and marketing experts, working to receive better data, and formalizing, strengthening and better defining success.
